Sandcastle Waterpark is an indoor waterpark located at South Beach in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, next door to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The park opened in 1986 and has 18 water slides in an 84 degree tropical climate, making it the largest indoor water park in the United Kingdom.
Sandcastle Waterpark is also home to white knuckle slides like the world’s longest indoor roller-coaster water slide, the Master Blaster and the first vertical indoor drop slide Sidewinder. In 2012, the water park opened two new Aztec theme slides, one with a chamber called ‘Aztec Falls’, and a toboggan like slide called ‘Montazooma.
Family attractions include the Ushi Gushi Action River, the Shimmering Shallows and the Typhoon Lagoon Wavepool. However, the wave pool is mediocre compared with other indoor waterparks, lasting only a few minutes every 20 minutes or so.
As for organization the park has good facilities – plenty of changing rooms, showers and lockers with friendly staff on hand to help and it’s all very clean. But all of this comes with a price. You pay extra to buy a wristband to access the big water rides, so an adult is expected to pay almost £100 to ride them all.
In sum, Sandcastle Waterpark in good but expensive day out. But if you live outside the UK you have plenty better options to chose from.Top Rides
