Aquaventure is the name of two sister water parks. One is located at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. The other in the island of Palm Jumeirah onAtlantis, The Palm resort, Dubai.
The Bahamas park opened in 2007 and has 141-acre (0.57 km2) of land and uses 200-million-US-gallon (760,000 m3) of water. The water park combines slides, lazy rivers and rapids with beautiful aquariums filled with many amazing creatures (everything from hammerhead sharks to lion fish) into one large waterscape.
The beach has beautiful white sand and crystal clear water and even a protected snorkel lagoon for you to enjoy.
But the centerpiece of the park is the Power Tower which contains four water slides ending in a pool full of sharks. Other slides include The Abyss, The Drop, The Falls and The Surge. Aquaventure also features a unique attraction, The Current, a lazy river that has rapids, waves, and conveyor belts that allow you to ride almost all of the parks water slides without having to get out of your inner tube.
The Dubai park has a 17 ha (42 acres) with twelve water slides and a 2.3-kilometre (1.4 mi) river ride with cascades, tidal waves and rapids. There are also two Mesopotamian-styled ziggurat temples reaching over 30 m (98 ft) and a gigantic exhibit with 65,000 fish and sea creatures.
Across the Aquaventure Dubaiwater park is Dolphin Bay, a 4.5 ha (11 acres) dolphinarium.
Unfortunately admission prices in both parks are very expensive (from $170/adult $130/child, 3 yr old is free), even when included in the Hotel packages. Food and drinks are also expensive ($13 for a hamburger is too much). Rental lockers are centrally located so you can get to them easily.
In sum, there so much to see and to do in each Aquaventure and a full day is not enough to see all the attractions in this world class water park.
Fun expensive for the whole family!.
