Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, is attempting a double Guinness World Record next Saturday, April 12. The park aims to have “the most number of people wearing onesies gathered in any one place” and “the longest scream by a crowd of people”. According to Guinness World Records, the existing record for crowd screaming was set in November 2013 in California. The record saw the crowd maintain a minimum of 80 decibels for a period of two minutes and five seconds. This scream record is being targeted as this year Drayton Manor will be the only UK theme park to unveil a new thrill ride, with the stomach-churning Air Race due to open in June. As a reward for participating the park has also reduced its entry price by 86%, so it’s just £5 for the day if you arrive before 10 pm.
Update: Record beaten as you can see in this Daily Mail article and photos.
“A UK theme park beat the world record for the numbers of visitors wearing a onesie yesterday but had to close its gates when too many people turned up.
