Here’s a list of our favorite theme park travel picks during christmas and winter season:
Europa Park, Germany. From the 23rd November until the 6th January 2014 (except 24th & 25th December) the park offers 12 live shows, 5 rollercoaster’s and more than 50 exciting attractions including a 55 meter high big wheel and a giant light parade with a loads of artists and fanciful carriages (see photo).
Efteling, Netherlands. From the 18th November to New Years Eve the park offers almost all the attractions of the park, but 3 of them change their form in the evening. The day ends with the sensational Aquanura water show, which is even more spectacular when set against a pitch-black winter sky.
Phantasialand, Germany. From 23rd November until the 12th January 2014 the park features several shows for Wintertraum that include he the heart-warming show “die magische Rose”. Major rides like Black Mamba roller coaster are open.
Shalagaren, Netherlands. Every weekend in December, as well as on Boxing Day (26/12) the park offers most of its attractions open, heart-warming braziers and a winter parade. In this anniversary year the park will also have a closing show, starting at 6 p.m., with lasers, fountains, projections, optical illusions, fireworks, live artists and mood music.
Winter Wonderland, England. Every day until 5th January (excluding Christmas Day) on Hyde Park, London Winter Wonderland offers several carnival attractions, ice skating, a giant wheel and circus.
