Rainbow Magicland is an Italian amusement park, located in Valmontone, 40 kilometers from Rome.
The park has a huge lake in the middle and its dominant thematic element is the magic. The park opened on May 26, 2011 and coasted around 80 million Euros.
Rainbow Magicland is a park in growth counting 36 attractions in addition to several performances staged in the theatres and on the streets of the park. Despite being dedicated to young kids provides a fun and adventure to all ages. There are a few good rides, including two 2011 Maurer&Sohne coasters: Shock top-notch launched roller coaster and Cagliostro indoor spinning coaster. There are also good water rides like Yutacan and La Rapide and a lot of fun rides for smaller children too. If your girls like the Winx club there is a ride just for that. The horror house Demonia is also great. But in my opinion, there are few choices, with few rollercoasters, lacking four or five with more power to be more attractive.
Several words of advice. Buy online because prices vary hugely. Take food and eat it in the parking lot because food stands are scarce and expensive. (Around 32 euro for a family of 4). Also you don’t get much choice- hotdog menu or sandwich menu and drinks are priced over the top. Bring sport clothes and shoes. The park has 185.000 m² so you’ll have to walk a little between rides. Pay the park in advance to avoid queues when leaving. Leave your phone behind. There are free Wi-Fi areas but the logging system is a mess. Take the train from Rome. The highway is confusing and Roman drive awfully (sad but true!).
In July 2014 the park premiered a new water, video, music and lights show callled “Illlusion” (the show was repeated during season 2015 in the summer).
Good day to have fun away from Rome’s sightseeing but leaving a little short of what was expected for a park located near one the biggest and most exciting capitals of Europe.
