In 2015, the Swedish group Parks and Resorts for the first time surpassed the billion kronor in sales, with number of visitors reaching record levels. Strong growth in Kolmården is one of the reasons for this success.
The group attendance figures in 2015 are as follows:
Grona Lund: 1,489,081 visitors (1,343,863 in 2014)
Kolmården: 720,764 visitors (508,177 in 2014)
Skara Sommarland: 227,418 visitors (295,147 in 2014; the years 2013 and 2014 were record years)
Furuvik: 263,431 visitors (238,439 in 2014)
The large marine aquarium: 203,380 visitors (178,223 in 2014)
As we reported previously, for 2016 the wooden rollercoaster Wildfire is the great novelty for Kolmården park, an investment of 135 million. Skara Sommarland also has a new attraction this year called Snakepit. More innovations are planned for 2017, including Grona Lund.
