Space Mountain is indoor roller coaster attraction located at Tomorrow land in all five Magic Kingdom-style Disney Parks. The roller coaster was created with help from a NASA astronaut and first opened in 1975 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. At that time it was first roller coaster completely managed by computer. Nowadays there are five different versions of the attraction in each Disney Park, including Disneyland Tokyo. The version at Disneyland Paris opened on June 1, 1995 and was originally designed as a view on space travel from a Jules Verne-era perspective, based on the novel From the Earth to the Moon. It then underwent modifications in 2005 and is now officially named Space Mountain: Mission 2.
