Hollywood studio Dreamworks announced plans this week to bring the world of its beloved/despised animated ogre to London’s South Bank by the summer of 2015. Teaming up with Merlin, the company behind attractions such as the London Eye and Madame Tussauds, Shrek’s Far Far Away Adventure is set to be the first of six sites due to open across the globe between now and 2023.
Promising an ‘immersive interactive experience’ the 20,000 sq ft site on the South Bank will be based upon a brand new adventure currently being written by the Dreamworks team. If your child would rather walk through a real swamp than meet Shrek, visitors will also be able to meet characters from ‘Madagascar’, ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and ‘How To Train Your Dragon’.
