The waiting is finally over, folks… Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi opens to the public today (Wednesday July 25).
The US$1billion (Dhs3.7billion) mega-park brings superheroes, villains, cartoons and childhood favourites to life on Yas Island.
The theme park is the latest superstar attraction rolled-out as part of the UAE capital’s bid to be a worldwide tourism destination.
It is split into six distinct zones – Bedrock, Warner Bros. Plaza, Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction and Dynamite Gulch.
A colossal amount of thought and effort has gone into creating the park. Don’t be surprised to find the likes of Looney Tunes’ Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, Fred Flintstone and Batman walking around the stunning sets.
Dozens of UAE dignitaries and their families visited on Tuesday July 24 for the inauguration of the new attraction.
The ceremony was attended by HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Full Story: Timeout
