Legoland Deutschland is located in Günzburg in southern Germany, roughly half way from Munich to Stuttgart.
The park opened in 2002, has 43.5 hectares (107 acres) in area and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bavaria with millions of visitors each year.As other Lego park (Billund, Windsor and Florida) Legoland Deutschland is designed for kids aged 5-12. There no really scary rollercoasters, neither there are no great 4D movie rides kind of attractions that Disney or other parks are full of. However, the mini cities, made entirely of Lego will please both kids and adults.
The park is divided into 7 themed areas: Miniland, Lego X-Treme, Knights’ Kingdom, Imagination, Lego City, Land der Piraten and Little Asia. The center piece of the park Miniland where model designers used more than 25 million standard Lego bricks to replicate European buildings of renown on a scale of 1:20. and the Star Wars Universe.
In 2015 the park constructed an attraction called City Police Station at the Imagination area where visitor can look for dangerous robbers in an unpredictable labyrinth. During our visit on a hot summer day in August 2015 we especially liked the Egyptian Land, the brand new Lego City Police Station and a replica of a Lego Factory.
On April 1 2017 the park will open a 7,000 square meters completely new theme land named Lego Ninjago World.
You can easily spent a whole day in the park having fun, playing games and riding the roller coasters. Be sure to start early in the morning so you have a lot of time ahead of you.
The park has very nice food stalls and good shops of Lego games and souvenirs.
All in all a very nice Lego park that only falls short to its counterpart in Billund.
