Six Flags Fiesta Texas is all about breaking records. Last season’s Iron Rattler debuted as the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid roller coaster, and the only one with a zero-gravity barrel roll. This season, White Water Bay will be home to the next record-setting attraction: Bahama Blaster, set to open in the summer.
“It’s an extreme water slide,” said park spokeswoman Sydne Purvis. “You climb to the top of a six-story tower, where there are four vertical launching capsules. Essentially what you’re doing is standing on a trap door. “The capsule closes around you, and you free fall straight down the tube. Two tubes are straight, two are looping.”
The Bahama Blaster tubes have an 80-degree drop — the world’s steepest for a water slide, and the same angle as the Iron Rattler’s first slope. Guests will top out at 40 mph, so make sure those bathing suit strings are tied tight.
