Record numbers of people visited Village Roadshow’s Gold Coast theme parks last year, thanks to new attractions and better weather.
Attendances at the group’s theme parks — including Movie World, Sea World and Wet ‘n Wild — soared by 548,000, up 26.8 per cent, in the six months to December 31.
The success of its VIP park passes, expected to hit one million ticket sales this year, also boost Village’s bottom line. Ticket sales revenue jumped $4.7 million, up 6.8 per cent.
Village said the return of better weather and people again wanting to “go out, escape and be entertained” led to the record visitor numbers.
