Discovery Cove is a wild life park located in Orlando, Florida, where guests can interact with a variety of marine animals, most notably bottlenose dolphins.
The Cove is a sister park of SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica and in this guide we’ll ask you to join us and swim with the dolphins, interact with exotic birds, tropical fish, rays, and land mammals and dive into the coral reef.
Let’s begin early in the morning. All food and drinks are included for the day so get here early for breakfast all the food is really good and served quickly in a buffet style. The park has a all-inclusive admission policy, including food, drinks, equipment rentals, and tickets. Also there’s the possibility to stay afterhours and have a gourmet dinner and drinks.
We were lucky with the weather so we enjoyed floating around the lazy river and sunbathing.
The reef was amazing and very big so you’re not on top of each other.
The dolphin swim was a nice experience, not very personal but there is a lot of people to get through.
In addition to swimming with dolphins, Discovery Cove guests can interact with exotic birds, tropical fish, rays, and land mammals.
The free-flight aviary in the park contains over 250 tropical birds to interact with and feed, including parrots, toucans, and over 30 other species of exotic birds.
But the best views are underwater. The goofy special underwater gear you see on the pictures is for SeaVenture, an underwater walk on the sea floor where you are able to interact with various forms of sea life.
The food quality was a lot better than expected and the frozen pina coladas while sunbathing were just what the doctor ordered.
All of this come with a price (the signature 30-minute Dolphin Interaction and underwater packages start at $199.00 but worth every dollar!!. Also with the all inclusive package you get the 14 day unlimited pass to Sea World and Aquatica and that is a great value offer. You must book in advance because daily capacity is capped at 1,200 people.
In sum Discovery Cove is one of the most beautiful places on earth. If there is one thing you do in Orlando this has to be it!
